Dermal fillers

Dermal Fillers have become increasingly more widespread for treating skin problems aesthetically that occur with ageing. This is achieved by the ‘plumping’ effects when the hyaluronic acid retains water. This product is intended to be used for the correction of wrinkles & lip enhancement by adding volume to tissue thereby restoring the skins contours and youthfulness or  enhancing the lips to the desired level of correction.
The fundamental explanation for skin changes is that while its components degrade skin ages. The skins components are: elastin , hyaluronic acid and collagen. Collagen is the main protein constituting the support for the skin. Hyaluronic acid also helps in maintaining water and provides volume and shape to the skin. Elastin allows the skin to remain firm and prevents wrinkles, folds or dimples. When these components are missing from the body the skin becomes thinner leading to deeper wrinkles, folds or dimples. The solution to the problem is to feed deprivation areas with materials that are designed to restore the skins volume and youthful natural form.

HOW IT WORKS

The driving principle is ‘filling’. This means that injectable substances fill and smooth the skin over the neighbouring areas; such recesses due to aging will disappear. The main component of the dermis is collagen that gives firmness, elasticity and strength for the skin creating a fundamental support. Once we grow older the aging process leads to thinning of the epidermis (the top layer). This lowers the protection capacity of the lower layer resulting in among other things, reducing water retention capacity. In addition collagen production slows whilst existing collagen becomes less effective.

WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED

Deep wrinkles

Wrinkles will deepen with age. At a very old age, it’s possible to develop very deep wrinkles that can be counted quite easily. Apart from aging, there are other factors that can also cause wrinkles to develop on one’s face regardless of age. Air pollution and smoke from cigarettes are the main causes in this category and, since they can be prevented, it takes personal responsibility to keep off cigarettes and ensure that environments with heavy air pollution are avoided as much as possible. There is a wide range of dermal fillers available in the market that can be used to treat deep wrinkles. The most recommended treatment is the non-permanent kind, which makes use of dermal fillers made of gel that is friendly to the tissue. Injection in the affected area is done by using a tiny needle and has the effect of plumping up the skin to make it look full with a smoother surface.

Nasolabial lines

Nasolabial lines are two folds of skin that normally start on each side of the nose to the corners of the mouth. They tend to separate the upper lip and cheeks are routinely called nasolabial folds. Nasolabial lines can result from a very early age and can make a young and beautiful person look old. Around the age of 25 years they look like two little lines almost not visible but with aging their visibility increases.

Over time, the inevitable effect of gravity and aging make the cheekbones heavier, and folding above nasolabial grooves increases. There are a number of ways nasolabial lines can be treated. The best of these methods seems to be the fillers. Treatments with dermal fillers are made with using non-surgical injectable products. The most commonly used substance is hyaluronic acid. It is considered a natural product, compatible with our body, with minimum risks for allergic reactions. The basic function of this treatment is to help the skin absorb as much water, in turn adding volume that looks and feels natural.

Smile wrinkles
Smile wrinkles are small folds appearing on each side of the lips. Some believe that these are unique expression wrinkles and facial character. Others do not, however great the tolerance towards this sign of aging, over time the collagen and elastin fibres in the dermis lose their qualities, not having the ability to recover. This is accelerated by exposure to ultraviolet rays that penetrate the skin at a deep level. Injections of fillers can be used to treat this condition. Direct injection of hyaluronic acid can be used on the affected areas in order to gain volume lost by the appearance of these lines. The most commonly used filler in treating these wrinkles is Restylane. Collagen lasts approximately 3-4 months , while hyaluronic acid lasts between 6 and 12months.

Lip wrinkles

Lip lines are one of those inevitable signs of aging that people ignore. Advanced technologies help aging lips regain and restore a youthful, plumped ,fuller look with minimal effort.
